Realfiction is an innovative group of Danish operating companies, with a Swedish parent company that is listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market. The group provides world-class IP and knowhow related to its groundbreaking Directional Pixel TechnologyTM (DPT) platform including holographic 3D and Multiview 2D/3D capabilities into LCD, OLED and microLED/LED based display products.
After being founded by Peter Simonsen and Clas Dyrholm in 2008, the initial operating company developed several commercially successful mixed reality displays for the retail and expo segments within its Dreamoc product family. This was followed by the listing of the company in 2017 through a Swedish parent company, and the launch of DeepFrame, the world’s largest mixed reality display.
Based on its earlier success, Realfiction was then ready to pursue the long-term goal of the company: to develop a solution for social holographic 3D experiences without having to use special glasses or any other accessories between the eye and the effect. Its groundbreaking DPT platform was invented for this purpose, and it was developed from 2019 to 2023 in collaboration with internationally recognised industry partners.
In 2023, Realfiction completed the first DPT LCD display, as well as demonstrators for an OLED version and a microLED version. DPT is thus compatible with all of the three major display technologies, and all three versions of the platform were presented to potential commercial partners during the CES 2024 week in Las Vegas in January 2024.
In 2024, Realfiction is focused on signing license agreements for its DPT platform with commercial partners in relevant market segments, ranging from home entertainment and cinema to professional use-cases and the automotive industry.
Realfiction’s long experience in the 3D display field, and the company’s novel ideas on how to create a revolutionary 3D holographic display solution without the drawbacks of earlier attempts, has attracted highly skilled and experienced minds from the 3D and display industry.
Working from facilities in Denmark and Taiwan, Realfiction’s management team is spearheaded by the following individuals:

He was directly responsible for bringing the latest generation of 3D cinema laser projectors successfully to market. Steen holds a dozen patents in the field of image processing and display technologies prior to his work at Realfiction.
Richard Ouyang has extensive experience from several of the largest display companies, including Huawei, Foxconn and Innolux. He has been responsible for the panel design on many groundbreaking products based on OLED and LCD technology. Richard is in charge of Realfiction’s Taiwan division.
Listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market since 2017, Realfiction combines a strong track record in the mixed reality display field with exciting high-growth potential, as the company is focusing on signing license agreements for its DPT platform with commercial partners in various industries. Such license agreements could provide Realfiction with substantial, long-term cashflows.
With its DPT platform, the company is well positioned to target the growing 3D display market. According to Global Market Insights, the global industry size of 3D displays is expected to record more than 25% CAGR through 2026 to an annual projected value of 60 billion USD, owing to the application of AR in the healthcare sector and demand for advanced infotainment & safety systems in vehicles. The stereoscopic display segment (which technically would include DPT products) dominated more than 70% of the market share in 2019, and it is anticipated to witness a 27% growth rate through 2026, owing to a surge in demand from gaming, stereoscopic cinema and home entertainment applications.

In addition to utilising its highly skilled R&D team, Realfiction collaborated with internationally recognised industry partners throughout the DPT development phase. These industry partners include, among others, the Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP (Fraunhofer FEP), Germany, and Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (imec), Belgium.
Furthermore, Realfiction has formed a strategic alliance with the large LCD display manufacturer and major Realfiction shareholder AmTRAN for the development of specific LCD based DPT displays.
In 2024, Realfiction is aiming to sign license agreements with commercial partners to bring DPT-enabled display products to market. The company is looking forward to taking this next natural step in its history of successful collaborative innovation and commercialization of innovative display products.
